CURRICULUM

The Shop Rat Education Program encompasses in-school as well as extra-curricular offerings that provide youth enrolled in grades 6-12 with an opportunity to explore and develop applicable skills in preparation for future careers within the manufacturing and professional trades sectors.

All curriculum utilized within the Shop Rat Education Program focuses on construction trades, engineering, precision machining and welding and has been designed to correlate with the needs of the local industries served, as well as CTE (career and technical education standards).

The Shop Rat Foundation believes strongly in the value of collaboration; facilitating programming in partnership with educational and community groups regularly.

In an effort to meet our mission goals of innovation and outreach, the Shop Rat Foundation has developed a career exploration focused mobile application, On the Job 360, as a way for students to explore manufacturing careers virtually. Additionally, the Shop Rat Foundation is launching virtual programming in 2021 with the opportunity for curriculum sales and franchising for those outside of the immediate service area.
