JOB OPENING: Shoprat hiring full time teacher

The Shop Rat Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization is looking for an applied Industrial Tech Instructor for their Shop Rat Education Program. This afterschool and weekend program involves instructing local middle school students and teaching them how to build creative projects. Instructors will be required to teach hands on skills, employability skills, teamwork and work ethic skills while building projects such as hovercrafts, ½ scale roadsters, basic utility vehicles and other exciting projects. The Program is held at a Manufacturing Facility (Classroom Setting) in Munith, MI and another class will be held in Jackson, MI. The office of the instructor will be located in the Pleasant Lake/Jackson MI area. The instructor will also be required to create curriculum and lesson plans for the projects during non-classroom time. Instructor may also be working with the local school districts to bring hands-on manufacturing labs to the local middle schools. Extensive industrial hands-on knowledge is required along with a Michigan Teaching Certificate or other teacher certification. Instructors must have knowledge using machines and hand tools. You will be required to go through a routine background check.
