Craig Shaw (Bubba)

During the planning stages of the Shop Rat education program Bubba, who has extensive knowledge of motorcycles, was initially going to be an advisor and instruct the staff of certified teachers on how to build bikes. It turns out however, he is an excellent teacher allowing him to teach the class with input from the rest of the staff.

Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, Bubba was the neighborhood bike mechanic growing up but quickly gained interest in cars and motorcycles. His first car was a 1972 Mercury Comet 302. At the age of 23 Bubba built his first custom bike from the ground up. His dream vehicle is a military style Hummer. After two years at a vocational school for auto mechanics, Bubba spent 10 years in the high-performance industry, working with engines. He has over 20 years experience building bikes, and has been making a living for the last two years building them for Great American Choppers.

In addition to his valuable contributions to the Shop Rat education program and working at Great American Choppers, Bubba also enjoys cooking and is a very talented artist. The students think Bubba is "Cool".
