Kelly Burr

Although Kelly is new to the Shop Rat Foundation and the Jackson area, she couldn't be more enthusiastic about her involvement in both. As the new Program Director for Shop Rat, Kelly brings 8 years of experience working with schools within the Metro-Detroit area and 5 years serving as a Director for various children's programs. She is passionate about working with children and young adults and providing unique opportunities for their development and success.

After attending Central Michigan University, Kelly began working with Camp Mirage in Plymouth, Michigan. At Camp Mirage, she started out as a Counselor and Facilitator for the Mirage Adventure Challenge leadership program. Eventually she moved into the Assistant Director position and began planning programs, interacting directly with families attending the program and working with local schools and businesses. She has also worked for the Knowledge Learning Corporation as Site Director for a Preschool program.

Kelly's experiences working with these programs, as well as the various community organizations and schools that they partnered with, really sparked her interest in non-traditional education programs and the non-profit sector. She looks forward to working to helping Shop Rat to grow and helping to make a difference for younger generations.
